Recipe for Crackle Cakes

Ingredients:

• 1 cup of sugar
• 3 tablespoons of butter
• 6 tablespoons of cocoa
• 3 tablespoons of honey or golden syrup
• 3 cups of cornflakes
• Coloured sprinkles

Method:

1. Put the sugar, butter, cocoa and honey or golden syrup into a pan. Turn on the cooker and put the pan on it. (Be sure to ask an adult to help you!)
2. Stir until the ingredients have melted.
3. Stir in the cornflakes until they are covered with the mixture.
4. Spoon a little of the mixture into the paper cases. Put coloured sprinkles on top of each one. Put the crackle cakes into the fridge to cool down.

Lost And Found

“Mum where are you I’m going to school” said Tim. He got no reply so like any other kid Tim went off to school!

“Loser” shouted the class bully Bob. Tim just walked away. His best friend Jimmy was waiting for him at the school gate. “Hi can you come to my house tomorrow?”. “Yes”. They went inside “Boys open your books to page eleven said the teacher. Tim was really intelligent child. He was vey sweet and popular. 

After school Jimmy and Tim ran home they both were very exited because tomorrow they would have a play date the next day. The next day Tim went to Jimmy’s house. They went to town but they got lost “Mum where are you” said Jimmy. “It’ll be ok,” said Tim in a scared voice. One minute they were with Jimmy’s family, the next they were in the middle of nowhere. “So do you think we’ll find home” said Jimmy. “ I don’t know” Tim whispered. There was a small building behind them! “Let’s go inside,” said Jimmy. “Ok but we’ll have to quiet” So they went inside but it was not that simple there was a man in the small building. “Be quiet he might catch us” said Tim. But it was to late. “Who goes there?” shouted the man. The man got them. “What’s your name said Jimmy. “It’s Brian” “We are lost” said Tim And Jimmy. “Oh I can help you,” said Brian. “If you want,” said the boys. So they searched and searched but they got nowhere. They slept in Brian’s house. 

The next day they searched again and again but no success it was really hard but they could not give up or else they would be homeless. But that was not the point. They loved their family and they wanted to find them. “Hey guys can I bring my friends over to help us” said Brian. “Well I don’t mind,” said Tim. So Brian brought Colm, Allen, Tony, John and Peter. “What are we doing?” said Allen. “You are helping us find our family,” said the boys. “I’d be happy to help,” said Tony. They looked around they took a few breaks but not too much. They went to a pizza place. “Great work guys” Colm. At the end of the day they talked in bed. “What are we doing tomorrow guys” said John. “We are just going to looking around again,” said Jimmy. “Can’t we just have one day off” Peter said. The boys looked at each other “NO!” they roared. “God hold your horses,” said Colm in a scared voice. The boys apologized “Sorry you know we can”. So they went to the sports store and got a football, rugby ball, Manchester United jersey, boxing gloves and a gum shield. Then they went to the sweet shop where they got gobstoppers, lollies, chocolate, chewing gum and ice cream. They played a soccer match where Tim’s team won 5-2 the people on Tim’s team were Allen, Tony, Brian, Colm and Peter. “Good match” Jimmy said in a mad voice. “You were grand as well,” some people said on Tim’s team. 

But the next day it was back to work. “Oh God I’m so tired,” said Allen. “Be quiet and just help,” said Jimmy. But there was a boy who wanted to challenge Tim to fight now it was a not huge fight but some people would be watching. So the fight began Tim got the kid Will in the headlock but then lost him. Will got a smack on Tim and took him to the ground thankfully he got up fast he gave Will the biggest smack of his life took him down but this time Will did not get back up. “Well done” said Jimmy. “Thanks”. So than they searched again they were getting very tired indeed. “Hey guys can we go home for a rest” said Brian. “If you want,” said Jimmy. So they went to Brian’s home. 3 hours later they got up and working again and they kept on working and working and they kept working until midnight in between that time they nearly in fact they nearly found their family but not quit they found a far back relation that did not know Jimmy’s parents. “Damn it,” said Jimmy. 

Back at home mum put up a reward for $1,000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 and I am just saying that Tim’s mum was rich. They lived in a mansion with a red carpet and huge rooms. But Jimmy and his mum had to leave his house because his mum and dad separated. So anyway the boys were searching when Brian came across something strange “Hey guys I found something “. So they looked at it. It was a clue it said find your family they wont find you. “What do you think this means?” said Brian. They had a cry but then they got on with it so after that they did not stop working. “I’m so tired” Allen mumbled. “Would you be quiet,” Brian raged. They kept looking around but no luck. Then Jimmy thought of something “What could the note mean guys” “It really does not make any sense. I have the feeling it’s not real,” Tim said curiously. But then Jimmy gave himself a box. Jimmy woke up! Mum I had an outstanding dream”  “Oh Jimmy you were asleep for days” Mum said sweetly. THE END.

Football Hero by Harry 

Once upon a time, there was a teenager called Mick who had zero talents ... or that is what the thought! He was unbelievable at football! 

On the 2nd Aril 1987, he went to Germany in the European Championship with Manchester United and won 3 - 11 against Liverpool in the final. He went to Japan in the World Championship but only won the final on a penalty shoot-out. 

When Mick went to college, he stayed with Manchester United. He scored millions of great goals and passes. He became famous all over the world competitions. He only lost two matches ever! But in 1993, he picked up a terrible injury. Mick broke both of his legs and was out for three months but came back even stronger! 

Years later he married a doctor called Ella O'Malley. They had three female children. Mick kept playing football and also kept winning awards. One year later, there was a huge match on in Manchester United. They were against Real Madrid in the World Championship. They decided they won't win on penalties or loose. They two clubs clashed, it went to extra time but United managed to get a slim 1 - 0 victory! It was a really tough match, in fact the toughest match United ever had. Manchester United kept up the hard work and became the best club in the world by a mile!

In 2011, Mick passed away aged 43.
